there are at least three teams better than the 'fins in the AFC.

That would mean the last wildcard spot would come down to the season finale VS the Ravens. I would take that season.

Kewl! the last time experts chose the fins to go to the sb, they imploded.

My theory of the fins usually holds true. The are usually the team that starts out strong since they work out in the heat of Florida. They then get burned out towards the end of the season.

It's so easy to beat the fins , start the back ups and watch Moolarkey panic since he didn't game plan for them.

Exactly, this is pretty much where each team stood at the end of the year standing wise (not record) in each their divisions last year. That took a lot of thinking.

So usually is the key word, since that didn't happen last year? I mentioned many times that last year's big push was against lackluster teams, but one has to make a primer sometime, correct? For the 1st time (in forever, lol,) we actually got stronger in the second half of games and the second half of the season. I also believe there are a lot of fans that say "this time it will be different," and I'm sure that gets old, but at some point, improvement and change does happen.

I think SI was way too generous, I see us being competitive, but if they can overtake NE or get a wildcard, then I'd be happy in all of year two of Saban's regime. I myself, would rather see the Dolphins as the underdogs, instead of the glitzy pick.

I think Jacksonville is better than that. No way is Philly going to be competetive in the NFC East. The Bengals get absolutely jipped. The Texans will be better than the Titans, I think. If it came down to that match-up, the Dolphins defense is not ready to handle the Colts' offense in the playoffs. Their defense is going to be their Achilles' heel.

Ithink they overrate the Dolphins, but in the AFC North they underrate the Bengals and Ravens. The Steelers are going to be in a war to win that division and I don't think the winner will have a 12-4 record, and I'm not sure it will be the Steelers.

The Panthers seem to be the glamour pick for SB champs this year. It usually happens to a Wild Card team from the year before that goes deep into the playoffs. I think that Seattle is probably still the front runner, since they play in a pretty weak division and the only player of note off the top of my head that they lost in the offseason is Hutchinson.

I think the Dolphins will win the AFC East this year but not get a week bye (just as this projection has it), but the AFC has alot of really good teams in it and I don't think that they could win two games on the road. I don't think anyone is going into Denver and winning this year in January as the Steelers did. The Steelers and Colts won't win twelve a piece this year due to offseason losses for both teams.

I like Denver vs. Seattle in the SB. A .500 year from the Bills is kinda what I'm expecting.

I'd be very happy if that happened... An 8-8 record is a best case scenario to me (I think we'll most likely go 6-10).

I dont agree with the Eagles though... no way they even come close to the other teams in their div.
As for the Bengals going only .500? no way. They're winning that division.
And lastly, they were too generous with GB's ranking. I dont see them winning more than 4 games this season (if that).

Did Miami get some new defensive starters that are Pro Bowlers that I don't know about?

Super bowl?

If I'm Miami fan, I LOVE the offense.. Ronnie Brown is gonna bust out big time and Chambers is on verge of being elite WR.. But the defense, especially the secondary is suspect.

Call me crazy, but I think the defense will surprise more than the offense. The strength of the defense may be the oldest part--the defensive line. One really can't judge a lot from pre-season, but the old timer Dan Wilkinson really showed up and really contributed, even though he had little camp time. So I think that will really help take the load off the other old timer in Traylor during the rotations. Matt Roth has also had a very good camp so hopefully he will contribute his youth and high motor energy this year. Another big factor is that this is their 2nd year in Saban's complex defense--last year the defense got better as the season went on, the more familiar they got, the more they were able to really utilize the philosophy of the D. I agree, at this point I am worried about the secondary, but at least they've shown an improvement in tackling--something that they struggled with last year. Travis Daniels has also been hurt during the preseason, but is getting a lot better, so hopefully he'll be ready to contribute once he's 100%.

It wouldn't shock me to see Seattle in the big game. I agree with what you're saying about the glamour picks each year, but I actually agree with Carolina leading the NFC this season. They've improved, at least on paper. As big a goof as Keyshawn is, he's also a very tough WR who catches the ball in traffic, and blocks very well downfield. He is easily one of the top 2-3 blocking WR's in the league. Plus he's succeeded with other loud mouth's in the past. Terry Glenn, Keenan McCardell, etc. are all big mouth's that he's played opposite of, and done well with, so Steve Smith and him should be okay. On defense, they're pretty much in tact, AND they get Kris Jenkins back. If he's even close to what he was pre-injury, that D-line is a lot better than last year...and that's saying quite a bit. After all, Jenkins was their best defensive player.

I think Miami is going to be dangerous this year, but not superbowl dangerous. I can see them winning the AFC East, but later on, Pittsburgh and Denver will be tough to get by, as will New England. Even if they finish 2nd in the east, the Pats are just one of those teams that is very dangerous come post-season, even with certain player losses.

This looks like random crappy numbers to me. Sorry but WOW. These numbers suck. Every team is in the middle. Everyone is going 9-7 this year or what? they got a whole division 9-7. lol.

11-5 is also a good favorite here.

Bengals are ALOT better than 8-8. I dont see the Cards being that bad either. They've really made alot of good changes for that organization. Packers will be lucky at 4-12 rather than 6-10. And lastly, the Jags are going to be better than 9-7. Buffalo at 8-8 speaks alot but I am reserving my feelings there as Iam Biased and Jaded(All Bills fans are! :) ).

Although I usually listen to what experts say, I have a gut feeling they choose what teams are going to be good and spit out numbers by a computer program.
