DAVIE, Fla. -- Offensive lineman Seth McKinney (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5976) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday by the Miami Dolphins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=mia), who also waived quarterback Brock Berlin and 13 others in their first round of roster cuts.
McKinney underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a neck disc and was hopeful of returning by the midpoint of the season. He started 29 games at center over the past two seasons for the Dolphins, and was expected to move to guard this year.
Also Tuesday, the Dolphins put wide receiver Eric Kimble on the physically-unable-to-perform list, meaning he's not eligible to return until the season's seventh week, and defensive tackle Rodrique Wright (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7975) on the reserve/non-football-injury list.
Berlin, who threw for 5,099 yards and 34 touchdowns in two seasons as a collegiate starter at Miami, played sparingly in the Dolphins' preseason games, completing 6 of 12 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.
