It's official now, that Dmitri has been re-signed. Here's the article from Sportsnet:

Now, we just have to get Miller under contract.

I thought about posting in chernobyl's thread, but I figured that, with his thread title, someone would make a new thread anyways (It always happens). Sorry, man.

$4 million for only 2 years? Wow! That's cheap. Why the hell didn't they try to lock him up long term at that rate? :(

Ummm...because it's CHEAP and I think Kalinin and his agent know they can get more once he's elligble to be a FA..

I'm sure the Sabres start every negotiation with a low number and a high amount of years and negotiate down from there.

I think that this is just the "new" NHL. I don't think you'll see too many 4 or 5 year deals any longer. Look at the Pens---They're stuck with Gonchar's insane salary for 5 total years.

I think this is an ok signing, Dimitri needs to play with some consistency and stay healthy and he could be outstanding, in his prime years now, this is the time for him to step up if any, Nathan Paetch as the 7th maybe teppo seven rest his old ass for the playoffs
