Miami running back Sammy Morris will be suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's steroid policy, two newspapers reported Thursday night.

Sad for Sammy who I always liked but glad he will not be in srable when Bills play at Miami.

I hope he gets his act together. Other than this violation, he's been a solid contributor and a workhorse that does his job. Very good on special teams, I think he was one of the ST captains last year.

I was kicking FGs with him one day in the field house, back when he was a Bill.
As I remember, he was fascinated with placekicking, and used to practice it as a hobby.
He nailed a 35 yarder off a tee that day, in his Timberland work boots.
Nice guy.

Here's some more detail from a blog from a Miami area writer:
Attorney David Cornwell confirmed last night that Sammy Morris will serve a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's steriods policy because, of all things, the running back took Sudafed. The over-the-counter medicine contains ephedrine and psuedo-ephedrine which are banned by the NFL steroid policy.
