And to think Rogers and Harrington were supposed to lead the Lions back to glory.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

What really sucks for him is his agent, the infamous pain in the a$$ Poston! Good luck Charles, you will need it!

This guy played about 4 games since he was drafted. What a waste. He robbed the Lions.

He still has the talent and may work out somewhere else if he gets his career in order. That is the biggest goal for him. I'd give him a shot for a cheap deal.

                        How fast can one fall?-geez

                        ala Mike Williams

                        . . . . .Phillips ( rb )
                        Charles Rogers
                        WR | (6-2, 202, 4.4) | MICHIGAN STATE
                        By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Decided to leave Michigan State after his junior season. High school All-American and state sprint champion. Prop 48 in 2000. Started every game in '01, catching 57 passes for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns and returning 18 punts for 158 yards and a touchdown. Capped year with a supersensational bowl performance vs. Fresno State, catching 10 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns. In '02, caught 68-1,351-13 (19.9-yard average per catch). Rogers is a third-year junior who has only played two seasons. Biletnikoff Award winner. Almost single-handedly defeated then-unbeaten Notre Dame with 7-175-2.

Positives: He has a rare combination of size, speed, receiving skills and athletic ability with a great future. Is a vertical receiver who will not be caught from behind. His hands are outstanding and athletic ability is exceptional. Great leaper. His speed is deceptive, much like that of Marvin Harrison, and Rogers is never really covered. Had a streak of 13 consecutive games with a touchdown. Can pluck and snatch and make the one-handed catch. Makes difficult catches look easy. Extends and goes up for the ball. Outmuscles defenders. Sells his routes. Aggressive. Willing blocker. Gets separation and shows make-you-miss. Has beaten the nation's best corners and really shows up in big games.

Negatives: Has a superstar's attitude. Is loud, cocky and immature but very competitive. Needs work on underneath routes; tries to break everything off deep. Isn't afraid to work but relies on ability. Doesn't beat the jam consistently and needs to learn to beat double-team. Loses concentration at times, making drops running before the catch.

Summary: Top-five pick who has the ability and athleticism to dominate at the next level. Shows the playmaking ability of Andre Rison and better speed and consistency than Plaxico Burress. Not as fast as Randy Moss, but is more reliable and a better person.

All that talent and no work ethic. I guess that's the biggest thing for Detroit and why they cut him. Maybe if he catches on with a good QB on a good team, he might actually show something.

For entertainment purposes, allow me to be a spin doctor (no, not that 90's band) It seems like all of those weapons that Harrington was supposed to have, that allowed him to not have any more excuses to produce, weren't all they were cracked up to be in the 1st place (except for the current Lions startiing WR.) So it'd be hard to hold that against him now (by law I have to blindly defend him now, lol)
