As I suspected, Holcomb is coming in as #2. Guys he will play this year. Even for a few snaps, as JP will get take a hit or two that he''ll have to walk off, etc. I love how Nall was going to be our starter.

Side note: the cutting of Lionel wasn't that surprising after you look back at it. Lionell couldn't break the big ones and A-train has experience. I think it was the right call. Our roster has 7-9 written all over it, but I like where we are going. This really reminds me of the Bills '87 team although not as good on the DL.

It's funny you say that. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. I even wrote a lengthy e-mail to a friend of mine comparing the 1987 team to this one. Of course, keep in mind that the 1987 year was a strike year. Who knows how much faster they would have improved without losing a handful of games. Either way, it was a young, talented team with 1 or 2 pieces missing. They went 7-8 (strike lost one game) and 12-4 the next season. New H.C. and new G.M. the year before. Marv only coached half of 1986, so 1987 was really his first full season with the second chance given to him.

Palmer took all the snaps until the playoffs. Favre all the snaps for over 200 games.

JP just might make it through the season and you can bet, hurt, injured it won't matter....he isn't coming out.

Until Nall gets more experience , I say it's a good move.

All this KH lockerroom cancer crap isn't gonna fly with Marv and Dick. Under Moolarkey yes.

there arent many backups in the league id take over holcomb

hes not flashy but he gives you exactly what you want in a backup - confidence that he could come in at any time and move the chains enough to keep you in ball games

funny how the venom just spews forth for anybody who loses their job to a better player

BTW, the official depth chart of the season won't be announced until sometime this week. If Nall impresses at practice, he could take the #2 spot.

Really? They are keeping him in spite of him doing it here last year and in Cleveland as well.

Depth chart has him at #2. If they were going to move him they would have already done it.

Depth Chart also has Matt Bowen as the starter at SS...and the only way I see him playing at that position is in case of injury to Donte

between Couch and the vets last year. , he could get away with it. Not with Marv this year now that JP is clearly no.1.

Jauron still has not decided whether Kelly Holcomb or Craig Nall will be his backup quarterback for the opener.

Also...negged for not supporting SLOP.

those are ROSTERS not DEPTH CHARTS and probably reflect the bias of the author

actually i hope nall takes the #2 spot because that means the coaches think he can be better than holcomb. and since holcomb was pretty decent on a terrible offense last year that would make nall pretty damn good
