I will give my Unofficial Official Preview/Thoughts (what no one asked for, lol)

One player doesn't make a team--last year's Steelers didn't win or lose soley because of Ben, in fact the team may rally behind Batch since a lot of people think he won't do as well.... I will be surprised if Benny won't get a couple of penalties in the loud Heinz stadium....Because of the Steelers scary defense, especially their run defense, I think the bulk of Browns yards will be from catching as opposed to running...I believe the Steelers only allowed 2-100 yarder backs last year....I think stopping the Steelers offense will be stopping or slowing down Parker...

I've got two predictions:

As a football fan, I say Steelers 21, Miami 10
As a Dolphins fan, I hope Miami 30, Steelers 7

As with any game, I hope both teams go injury free and hope the refs watch the right game this time.

I just read this little bit, and I wondered if Wanny would've started preparing for the game this previous Tuesday night:

The Dolphins have been preparing for the curtain to go up on this season since Saban started studying the Steelers in March, when the game was scheduled. He stuffed his laptop's hard drive with Pittsburgh information in June and took it with him on vacation.
By the middle of last month, Saban had seen every snap the Steelers ran last season.
Some of those, particularly the trick plays, he watched repeatedly.

Your a Cornacopia of knowledge. I wish you were a Bills fan because your very likable. With that said I'll be rooting for the Steelers. I will say one thing, if Miami can get 7 on the Board first they may be able to rattle the Steelers cage which may force Batch to do more than he needs to. That's why this game is a pick.

Pfffew, Deion Sanders picked the Steelers. I remember the same way he was talking about the Steelers, he was talking the talk about the Cowboys on Thanksgiving day a few years ago. I hope Miami can have the same success tonight, like they did on that Thanksgiving day.

Welker is damn good.

Undrafted free agent that was cut by the Chargers, and we gave the 'lil guy a try. In one game, he returned a kick, kicked an extra point, then kicked off after that.

I've seen the "*" used, and if I was to add one it'd be
*Culpepper was projected to be off a year, return midseason, or extremely best case scenario, MAYBE be starting opening game.
It is only at half time, but against the Super Bowl champion Steeler defense, the same "*" is 11-20, 143 yards. I think it's great that a possible reason for his numbers not being better, maybe chalked up to week one rust.

Some really quick bytes at half time:
I'm not surprised by Batch being successful. If you go back to an earlier post of mine before the game, I echoed something Kevin Carter said that sometimes a team is dangerous when they're rallying against the 2nd stringer that's not supposed to be successful--see the last Buffalo/Miami game (that wasn't meant to be a jab, but to serve as the best example to the idea.)
The Steelers defense is showing why they only allowed one 100 yard rusher last year (I earlier thought there was two, but I found that I was wrong.) Miami's defense has been good, for the most part they've been pretty good against the run, but they're still trying to work out some kinks, but at this point they've allowed ( I think) 137 yards, but unfortunately two TDs. Miami's special teams have been really shining so far, in both returns and coverage.
I was hoping for a TD in that last drive, but I'll take the 14-10 lead against the SB champs at half time so far.

Michael82
09-07-2006, 09:20 PM
