BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -Anthony Turner threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Ruben Ruiz and Jacob Hardwick forced a fumble on the last play of the third overtime to give Bowling Green a 48-40 victory over Buffalo on Saturday night.

Turner, who completed 16 of 23 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 127 yards on 23 carries, tossed a 17-yard scoring pass to Ruiz with 1:30 left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

It took the Falcons (1-1, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) just four plays to score on Turner's 7-yard pass to Ruiz in the third overtime. Buffalo (1-1, 0-1) then took over at the 25 but on fourth and 1 from the 16, Steven King took a handoff and Hardwick knocked the ball loose. The play was blown dead - and the game ended - when Buffalo quarterback Drew Willy recovered and tried to advance the ball.

check out the stats.....how was UB even in the game?? they gave up over 300 yards rushing...can you imagine what Auburn is going to do to them? The NCAA D-1A record is 768 (Oklahoma v. Kansas St, 1988)...do you think Auburn can top it?

Regardless, Turner Gill has made a HUGE difference in that program. With last years staff, the score would have been Bowling Green 62-0.

UB will get drilled by Auburn, Boston College and Wisconson this year. They collect 1.1 Million for that sacrifice, which elevates the program by hiring top recruiters to attract talent and upgrades the facilities. Next year they open at Penn St.

1 step back, 3 steps forward with the future in mind.
