View Full Version : With how we played today, I think the season is wide open

We some weak teams we are playing along the way and I really think that those edge games that could go either way now have to lean in our favor however mildly. I think we have a good shot at splitting with NE and bouncing both the Jets and Miami. Miami looks confused and the Jets found a team in Tenn that weaker than Puppy pee.

My Picks:

I think we lose at Miami and then go on a tear. We will GEL! And go something like 10-6

Wow, sweet. I don't even see us losing to Miami. I think Miami has seen a speed on both sides of the ball they respect.

I'm sorry, I've always been quite level headed and try to see things equally for both teams involved, but unless the Steelers get blown out by every team after week one, why do other peeps make it seem like we got annihilated by some Pop Warner team? It could be a safe arguement that the any success the Bills had were MAYBE because of a Patriots team that is POSSIBLY on a downward slope themselves. Some of the obvious points---no playmakers at WR, a secondary that was barely upgraded, a banged up and shaky depth at LB. Despite some of these quick things off the top of my head, it seems like some peeps on here feel they just almost beat the repeating Super Bowl champ Patriots, not the team that got bounced out of the playoffs, which was a playoff spot earned by winning a weak AFC East division. The Dolphins do go up against the Super Bowl champions and are competitive with them for 90% of the game, and that last 10% was ugly, but we weren't dominated and embarassed the whole game, like some seem to give the impression of. Some make it seem like we got exposed by some Pop Warner team. I realize that since everyone and their brother is expecting the Bills to do bad and they were competitive against the almighty Pats is supposed to count for something, and on the same token the hype that has been made for my team was supposed to gurantee a victory against the Steelers, but just because we got beat by the smothering Super Bowl champs, don't count us out just yet. So I applaud the Bills for coming out with some attitude and proving to the viewing public that there not dead yet this season, but at the same token, don't be quick to count us out either. I've been here all year, and I'll be here if the Bills win, but hopefully there won't be any "bad calls" or other reasons to discount whichever teams win.

Good post.

I expect the same type of hard fought game, with a 13-7 Fish victory.

But watch out when you come down here, because we will be firing on eight cylinders by then.

It will be our only cold weathered game, so that one will be a true test of any kind of December growth if you will.

opening day games are strange beasts. it's tough to say what really carries over. i'm sure you all remember 2003, when you thumped NE. and i'm sure fin fans all remember last year's whooping of denver. the fins then had a terrible time for much of the first half of last season, losing a lot of agonizingly close games.

i don't expect NE to do such a bad job of protecting brady all season, and i do expect them to have more than 3 active WR on most weeks. if they're really as bad as they played against the bills, then it really is wide open. i expect them to do a good job defending their division title.

i'm not trying to diss the bills: i also expect that JP won't have trouble receiving the snap from center all season, and i expect evans to have more than 2 short catches a game. and how good will whitner be once he really knows what's going on back there? a lot better than his first game, that's for sure.

this game had the look and feel of a preseason game for both teams, IMO. as for the phins-steelers game, it looked like the fins were in preseason mode and the steelers were ready to go. it looks like everyone in the east needs to raise their level of play. if you expect NE to play like that when they come back to buffalo, you'd better hope the coaching staff doesn't think that way. the bills will need to play much better against the pats next time. i'm not saying they can't do it; i'm just saying...
