Price catches the pass on 3rd and 2, gets well past the first down marker, THEN a block in the back is called on Royal. My question is, shouldn't it have been a 1st down, then the penalty assessed? I thought this was the rule. Instead of 3rd and 2, it should've been 1st and 10. I swear this is how the rule works. It happened a few times last year.

I'm not sure, but if he did pick up the first down before the clipping, that's the way the rule should work - especially if Royal did it to someone who wasn't in a position to make a play anyways.www.gamersconspiracy.com - where gamers conspire

Originally posted by patmoran2006It was the RIGHT call technically. 10 yard from spot of foul then replay the down..
BUt in all reality, it was a horrible call, he was already going out of bounds and the ref CLEARLY knew he had the first down.

It's the Pats' and BB's world, and we just live in it. Or, as we say, "Just give it to 'em."Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

You know that the nfl network that airs nfl total access has the head of officials on, usually on Tuesday night to go over some questionible calls made during the week and ill guarantee that they will not even question this one. Now if it were the other way around they would.

Re: Confusing Call, On the Price first down catch
Guys, I believe it is similar to a holding call or something like that since it is on the offense. It is 10 yards from the spot of the foul and replay the down.

Originally posted by Forward_LateralI don't think it's the right call. I think if the first down is obtained before the foul, it's a first down. I'm 80% sure of this.
