Actually I really feel a need to chat about the 1999 draft class.

        Riveting stuff.

Still to early to break this class down.

          Eli is getting better

Ben just keep his team in the game. But we will see how he does without bettis.

Rivers um held the clipboard really good

JP looked like **** last year. Was decent yesterday.

Kinda funny that you've posted 3 times in a thread you deem useless.

Watching Rivers playing tonight got me thinking about that class and how JP stacks up in that class. That's all.

the jury is way out on all of them...The Steelers win regardless who plays at what position...Manning and Rivers were touted as the #1 overall...many gurus and teams didn't even have JP in the 1st round...any more than that goes out on a limb.

I agree - its way early. I just felt like posting...

I think Ben and Rivers looked more poised in the pocket in their first outings than did Eli and JP. Eli has matured since taking his lumps, so hopefully JP does as well. This class could be pretty special...

Course if we had a stout offensive line, LT and Antonio Gates along with a stellar Defense JP might look "poised" as well.

                          Re: 2004 QB Draft Class

Big Ben is good, and is surrounded by great coaching and talent. So far, he's at the head of the class.

With the other 3, it's too early to tell. Rivers won a game last night thanks to a superb running game and a ferocious defense. Eli has had a coach who believes in him and has given him 25 or 26 starts already. He's looking better, but I don't think he's a top flight QB as yet.

JP finally has a good coach, but we lack the overall talent level of the Steelers, Chargers and Giants, which really help the other 3.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

One of the stronger classes in the past decade, not to the McNabb draft level bujt its gonna be pretty close.

Its a prediction not a fact.

I think JP has more physical ability than the other 3. But only time will tell if that translates to success on the field. Both Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf had physical ability, too - and Leaf may have had more.
