Report: Bush, family received $100,000 in benefits

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2588347

Reggie Bush and his family "appear" to have received more than $100,000 in financial benefits from marketing agents while Bush played at USC, according to a report posted Thursday night on Yahoo! Sports.

If allegations of improper financial benefits prove true, many of Reggie Bush's USC achievements could be erased.

The Web site reported that the benefits, which could lead the NCAA to retroactively declare Bush ineligible and level sanctions against the Trojans, were supplied by two groups that were attempting to sign Bush as a client. Bush also could be stripped of his Heisman Trophy..............

Yahoo Sports has it out for Reggie Bush. They tried taking him down prior to the draft, and they're at it again. **** them.

Ya know, I know its against NCAA rules. But I personally dont give a ___ Dont we have better things to worry about like why these guys are graduating by majoring in underwater basket weaving. I really dont care if some sponsor or whatever gives them money to play wherever. If it somehow alters who wins n Saturdays, yeah maybe. But Its a pretty dumb thing to worry about in my opinion.

They should be giving these kids some kind of stipend any way... the schools are making millions off them.

Isn't a free ride with a scholarship some kind of stipend? Like a $100,000+ stipend in most cases.

There's a difference between "scholarship" and "stipend." A scholarship is the least that the schools could give players, and the players deserve a true stipend in any case.

I really don't care, and I'm confident that Bush is not an an individual in this case.

monetarily speaking, yes- they can't touch him. But he may lose his scholarship.

And USC could get sanctioned. I'm kind of 50/50 on that. If Bush or other players broke the rules, they deserve sanctions just like any other school. On one hand, it would be good for ND to not have to worry about beating USC for a few years cuz of the sanctions. On the other hand, it's much more satisfying to actually BEAT them than to have them out of contention due to some technicality.

yeah, and the kids who actually pay tuitions should get nothing.

                            that makes sense.

they can't pay the kids as it would ruin the competitiveness on the field. Schools would no longer being vying for players based on the integrity of their universities and programs...it would be just like the pro's with no salary cap the schools who paid the most would have the best players.
