Marv's thoughts on last week's game

From NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV, they play the Marv Levy Show every Sunday. Here's what he's said so far about last week's game:

    1. JP.....Overall good, encouraging, he made good reads.

    2. The Defensive Tackles did not play as well as he had hoped. They need more/better production out of them.

    3. Had no problem with whatever DJ would have done on that 4th down. But said, that was a time where Willis should have "slammed it in there." Otherwise, he said Willis ran well, especially citing the screen pass where he reversed field.

    4. The two young safeties played very well, they are still learning, and are both good learners. He said Donte is taking way too much heat for the pass to Watson down the middle. He basically said it was the LB's fault (The LB on that play was Crowell). "We were in a 2-deep coverage and hoped our Linebacker could cover him down the middle."

    5. We did not stop the run effectively enough (obviously)....and must do a better job than that. I tihnk this basically goes back to point #2.

We're soft in the middle of the field. Hope the young guys can step up and play above their level of experience.
