At the risk of making something out of nothing....

Our seats were right behind the Jets' bench, in the second row- they were practically right in front of us.

Right after the Jets took the field, of course some of the people around us were trying to get into the players' heads. One guy yelled to Pennington- "Hey Chad- 7 sacks Chad! Seven Sacks" (obviously refering to the Bills' performance against the Dolphins).

Pennington, who ignored the rest of the comments thrown his way all afternoon, just looked at the guy and nodded. He was obviously not intimidated by the pass rush.

Was this just an NFL player shrugging off obnoxious fans at a road game? or was Pennington that confident that our pass rush was nothing to fear before the game started?

Our DL was certainly lacking all game- if the JETS were that sure they could beat us in the defensive trenches, we either need a better defensive line or the coaches need a better scheme (or both).

a little bit of both........ pennington is a very very mature qb and never seems to get much credit where its due........

he may not have had the gaudiest of stats, but a W is a W.....

kinda like JP last week...... did enough to win the game

Pennington is definitely a smart QB- there's no doubt about that.

It pisses me off cuz JP is three times the athlete that Pennington is, but half the QB.

That's experinence OP, we need to give JP more time on the field. JP looks pretty durable and Chad has a tendency to fall apart physically during the year.

well i wouldn't really say 3 times the athlete....... jp is a very strong and mobile qb, but rarely does that give ya success, usually its one or the other

pennington may not have a rocket arm, but he is extremely accurate, and has the mental aspect of it, and that to many, is more imporant than going 25 for 50 with 250 yds and missing half of those horribly

jp will be a good qb, but he would need an offense that is comparable to tulane, or he would need to have ultimate confidence from teh bills, and by that i dont mean giving him peyton-like power, but if he has 10 yards open, let him run for it, he's sure as hell fast enough. yes, i know the coaches wanted to contain that, but running back and forth like a chicken with your head cut off doesn't help either

its not really him falling apart, an injury is an injury.

Injuries follow guys around after a while, they get bit by the bug and never really shake it. How many games has Chad played in the past 2 seasons? That's what I thought.

it is still an injury that happened, and then re-occured.

                football is a grueling sport.
as far as the how many games has someone played the past 2 seasons part goes....... who cares, the past is in the past.

thats like saying willis had that horrible knee injury at miami, he's vexed for life.......... can't go with that type of attitude

                or for that matter, TKO?

                    Op...

The Jets simply negated our pass rush by using 3-step drops, quick slants, dink-and-dunk passing the entire game. THAT was the beauty of their scheme.

This didn't give the Bills any chance to apply the pressure that killed Culpepper.

This was FANTASTIC coaching by the Jets.

The passes that Chad was throwing weren't affected by the swirling winds on the playing field.

The point about the "beauty" of the Jets scheme was the inability of the Bills to adjust to this type of "attack"! How about 8 or 9 in the box to cover that passing game that really sufficed as the Jets running game which, in large part, was NON-EXISTENT! The Bills simply refused to challenge a mediocre scheme by playing a vanilla defense designed to keep EVERYTHING in front of it. The problem there is that in front was 5 to 10 yards a throw throughout the entire football game! Did Pennington really beat the Bills with a superior effort or did the braintrust allow him to do what he does best.... Dink and dunk? I'd say the latter!
