He should be forced to retire for that. They're playing on grass, which means they're wearing spikes, not the rubber soles they wear on turf.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but from the description, I totally agree!!!

I'm really "Old School", going back to the '50s when guys like Chuck Bednarik would hit guys, twist ankles, etc. in the pile-ups--when Ernie Stautner and the Pittsburgh Steelers would never win the game, but the team that played them would leave town beaten up and bruised afterwards--but taking a guy's helmet off and kicking him in the head goes way beyond that: that's something that could literally kill the guy or maim him. And, there's NO place for that in the game on ANY level!!! A HUGE fine and suspension is definitely in order.

Basically. I honestly cant tell if he pulled the guy's helmet off or if he connected with the first attempt to step on him, but he sure did connect on the second one. It looked like two stomp attempts, the first took the helment but the second its so clear its not funny. It was intentional as hell, and he intended to injure the guy.

the NFL needs to make an example of him.

And if he isn't, then someone needs to take out his knees the next time he is on the field.

Haynesworth feels like chit...he said he went into the locker room and saw his kids on his phone and really regretted what he did. "I don't want them to have my name and think of me as a dirty player. I'm not a dirty player, and I can't tell you how sorry I am for doing that. All I can do is apologize." he also said it didn't matter what the league did to him, because what he did was worse, and he couldn't feel any worse than he does right now.

He sounded sincere, but he'll still be punished, and he knows it.

In what likely will be an unprecedented punishment in terms of size and scope, a league source told SI.com Monday that the NFL is preparing to swiftly hand down both a multi-game suspension and a hefty fine against Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5901/), who stomped on the head of Dallas offensive lineman Andre Gurode (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/5923/) in the second quarter of the Cowboys' 45-14 win on Sunday. Gurode required 30 stitches to close a gash beneath his left eye, and suffered partially blurred vision.
A suspension and fine for Haynesworth could be announced by the league as soon as late Monday, the source said, although it more likely will come on Tuesday, the traditional day within the NFL week that teams make roster maneuvers. The league is said to be acting quickly in part in order to be sensitive to the Titans' roster considerations, a sure sign that Haynesworth is headed for a suspension of some length. Tennessee could replace Haynesworth on its active roster during the length of the suspension.
The league source said the NFL will mete out both the suspension and fine, rather than allowing the Titans to handle the suspension portion of the penalty.

They need to suspend him for the year. Its too bad the NFL doesnt have the balls to do that. As for as 'allowing' the titans to handle it? They can do whatever they want. If the NFL says 6 games, Fisher can tack on whatever else he wants.

I've never seen anything like that before.

Kick him out of the game.

That's like Marty McSorley’s stick to Donald Brashear head... on second thought, it’s worse, what McSorley did was in the course of continuing action, that was after the wistle. That was more like Bertuzzi vs the Avs…
