The Buffalo Bills remaining persistent with their running game against the big, strong and stingy Minnesota front four in their 17-12 victory over the Vikings. Although Willis McGahee averaged only 2.8 yards per carry, new Bills offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild understood the importance of continually pounding the football. McGahee ended up with 28 carries, which played a major role in allowing the Bills to hold a 12-minute edge in time of possession. And that was vital in Buffalo being able to hang on as the Vikings' comeback attempt fell short as they ran out of time while trying to drive for a potential game-winning touchdown.

Vic Carucci used to be the best local Buffalo writer and always has been fair regarding Bills even when many have disagreed with him.
