BAD IDEA
The Miami Dolphins' decision to have Ronnie Brown (http://nfl.com/players/playerpage/407235) attempt a halfback-option pass on an unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt that sealed their 17-15 loss to the Houston Texans. Brown had never played quarterback in his football career, nor had he ever attempted a pass in an organized game. He had the option to run, but he opted to throw because he briefly saw tight end Randy McMichael (http://nfl.com/players/playerpage/302087) open before launching the ball in the direction of receiver Marty Booker (http://nfl.com/players/playerpage/133228). His pass ended up being deflected and fell incomplete. Daunte Culpepper (http://nfl.com/players/playerpage/133263), an actual quarterback, had previously led the Dolphins on two successive scoring drives. His assignment on the two-point conversion attempt was to block. The better idea would have been to allow Culpepper to make the choice of whether to throw or run.
