DENVER (Ticker) - The surging Colorado Avalanche should be even better Tuesday night as captain Joe Sakic is expected to return to the lineup against the Edmonton Oilers.
Sakic has been out since suffering a broken right foot in the second period of a 1-1 tie with the Dallas Stars on January 20.
A team spokesman said Monday that Sakic has been medically cleared to return.
The 33-year-old Sakic reached the 500-goal plateau on December 6 and has 19 goals and 22 assists in 37 games this season.
