FRIDAY UPDATE: Takeo Spikes practiced fully with the team on Friday which is an encouraging sign heading into the weekend. The veteran linebacker did not practice last Friday. Dick Jauron admitted that seeing him practice today was a good sign, though he wouldn't say how good Spikes' chances of playing are for Sunday. Jauron said Spikes will remain questionable and again be a game time decision.
Ultimately it will all come down to whether or not he can burst off of that leg with the hamstring problem. If not, as Takeo said himself he cannot be the player he is and does not want to hurt his team.
Robert Royal practiced Friday but remains questionable and will also be a game time decision according to Jauron.
Chris Villarrial and Matt Bowen did not practice. Neither are expected to play on Sunday.

It's encouraging. I don't think Rex Grossman wants a hungry Spikes in his face this week.

I don't think any QB wants to see spikes playing - when he's on the field, our D brings their A game - With Whitner, they bring it too, but Spikes seems to get every one fired up - our D will be downright scary with both Spikes and Whitner on the field.

I'm definitely all for that - put him in on passing downs at least that should shutdown at least a quarter of our defensive backfield.

Exactly if the hammy is that bad, then a full game going full bore isn't the best thing. Rotate him in

Lets just hope Spikes isn't sore tomorrow. If he feels ok tomorrow, then he should be good to go.

At first I was wondering but I think it is. Even he was annoyed at the press conference about it.

Maybe now he understands why we did what we did with Vincent, especially if Vincent's pull was more severe....

I love Spikes, and I really want him back on the field, but I'm not counting on him much anymore. He's missed about 16-3/4 of the last 20 games, so anything he can give us, I look at as a bonus.

I hope he doesn't come back if the hammy isnt ready, last thing I want is him out the rest of the season. This is a big game as a measuring stick of where the Billsies are as a team, and its easy to get fired up about playing arguably the best team in the league. But its not a divisional game, and its still pretty early in the season. There's going to be bigger games down the line. If one more week on the sidelines helps ensure that he's ready for the long haul, I'd rather have him sit.

Also, all the talk is about his hammy. How's that achilles tendon holding up? anybody heard anything about that?

i pray tko can go and stay healthy sunday

but you gotta admit ellison has been lights out. considering the entire situation one of the most incredible performances ive ever seen from a bills rookie. hes not just playing hes steadily contributing, including big plays like the third and short stuff against the fish

with crowell also playing very well the drop off from losing spikes overall isnt as huge as it could be

in fact if ellision does play i think this would be the great week for him to get a pick or force a fumble or something, karma would be on his side

TKO better play Sunday! :flex:

Spikes injury once again proves Marv and Dick knew what they were doing all along with the Vincent situation.

I know we are a totally different team with TKO, and I prefer to win or at least have a bigger chance on this game. But Meathead is right, Ellison has been at least average to good, and if TKO is not getting any better, he is not getting any younger too.

Anyway, let's go Bills and here is my wish, to have Warrior 100% BACK!!!!!!

Let him be ready 100% before he's inserted into the lineup. We don't need a liability out there because of an injury.

Sure the back ups are playing well, and sure they should wait for Spike to be 100% before inserting him into the lineup, but imagine how much better he can make this defense. I appreciate the hard work of the back ups, but it's time to get Takeo out there for a full season reaking havoc on the league.

He is the best LB in the game when he's healthy - bar none - all bias aside.

I'd take him over any of the following any day of the week and twice on Sunday:

Julian Peterson
Ray Lewis
Brian Urlacher
Dan Morgan
Keith Brooking
Shawne Merriman (who should have made that tackle on Todd Heap)
Johnathan Vilma
Bruschi (had to mention him that would be like blasphemy or something :ill:)
McGinest
AJ Hawk (who I hear is sucking right now)
Zach Thomas... Anyone without second thought or hesitation.

Takeo is hands down the best LB in the NFL when healthy although AJ Hawk is not doing so well I believe he will eventually be a really good LB when he has the experience.

Sorry gotta take Urlacher over Spikes in that mix. If for no other reason, he hasnt been marred with injury. Yes, if Spikes can manage to get on the field and stay there, he can be the best in the league

Honestly, I was bigtime worried when I listened to Spikes pressy. He just sounded so non-chalant. It was such a stark contrast to the T shirts, the comeback comments.
