should be 1-1 if the ref wasn't such a little *****..... the puck was NEVER frozen at any point by Huet so it should have been a live puck and a goal.

we played better the last 10 than the first 10 that's for sure. We're going to destroy them in the next period.

They looked tired in the first 10....better in the 2nd 10.
And our power play is weak.
When we have the man advantage, we look short-handed.

Buffalo started this game off just as horribly as they did vs Carolina.
That "frozen" puck was dog crap. Come on, that dude was right there. :rolleyes:
A quick note on Peters---Total crap. Every time this guy is on the ice, it's an opportunity for the other team. I can't, for the life of me, understand why he's still in the pros, but someone like Paille or Stafford is demoted. I'd rather have a green kid learning the game than a ogre who does nothing but sit in the box. :down:

I don't know...it was that kind of refuse to lose play that we had going last season starting in or around November I'd say. Looks like Briere showed up as captain and said we're going to play that way from day two this year. Let's see how we do tomorrow.
I think we may be pissed that we sucked wind so much tonight and blow them out tomorrow.

I can honestly say that was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched, felt like a game 7 playoff game!! no joke holy lord my heart is beating outta my chest, i'm smiling and laughing like an idiot, that was just amazing, when max made it 4-4 i coulda jumped through the roof no joke oh man this is amazing, this team is amazing!!!!

Maxim Afinogenov continues to be the biggest enigma in the history of the Buffalo Sabres. One period, the guy is deking and speeding down the ice, but not scoring a damn thing....then, fast forward to the 3rd, and he's putting the game into OT. Max wreaks havoc on every Sabres fans' heart. :bandwagon
This game really was mostly Montreal's. It's really amazing to me that Buffalo had the heart and soul to keep at it. Not only was Montreal making the most of many of their chances, the poor reffing showed its ugly head again tonight. The Novotny & Drury penalties come to mind first and foremost. I can't imagine how in the Hell Jiri could do anything but collide with Huet there. Was he supposed to dive over the net or something? And Samsonov did a fine Greg Lougainis to get Drury into the box. All in all, though, there were few penalties until the point, but add those 2 particular calls in with the false frozen puck whistle, and you've got yourself a need for bulletproof glass on the officiating crews' vehicle. :gun:
I must make honorable mention to Thomas Vanek, too. He's really playing better again this season, unlike how he finished the year last season. Let's keep it up!

Very nice! Honestly, I'm glad they showed the heart to come back, but they really have to start playing better. They just aren't coming out of the gates with the passion to really take it to a team. It seems like they need a kick in the a$$ before they start to play. If they play like they did in the 3rd, then this team has good things in store for the season.
They didn't even play for the whole 3rd. They definately need to put solid periods together.

Well said. I believe that this team can compete in these types of games, but I'd rather see the types of games they played at the end of last regular season, where they just shut teams out.
I feel like I must make a criticism of Dmitri---Boo! He played like ass quite a bit tonight. I want to see the Kalinin of last playoffs, not the slacker from the regular season last year.
..i still cant believe we won!!!!! AWESOME.
the nhl seriously has to watch out, they dont know what theyre in for. GO SABRES!!!
