Ain't that the truth.

Football IS America's sport! Period.

Baseball soured a lot of fans a few years back, '94, and never realy regained in popularity. It was starting to make strides again this season and then the greedy players are going to ruin it for good this time.

NFL has been strong for a long time and will not die, EVER.

When was the last time you saw people tailgating at a baseball game?

tailgating at a baseball game? Kinda at cubs games in 80's, more like a drink fest. Besides too many games, one of the great things about football is the limited number of games.

While baseball is a picnic, football is a party...

NFL is the sport. Anyone who says NHL is the countries past time is just thinking about themselves. NHL is the fourth biggest sport here! NHL is the Canadian past time, not the American one!!!

I may as well put a target on my forehead, but I'll make the claim that baseball is a better game. Not Major League Baseball vs. the NFL/NBA etc. The other games have an "immediacy" factor that baseball doesn't. I think baseball is the most interesting/complicated game. The problem is that baseball plays 162 regular season games, then a bunch of playoffs and the world series. Too many games. Football is set up much better. It brings a party atmosphere and attracts a fan who is more interested in war metaphors than skill. In my view, football is a perfect tailgate game , but not as good at the conceptual level as baseball. Regarding the athlete, I think baseball demands more skills, football more power. Just my opinion.

I loved baseball as a kid. Loved playing it. Loved watching it. I've grown to almost dislike it as I've grown older. It's a combination of a season that is just too damn long and the same teams always being dominant (Yankees and Braves come to mind). The strikes of the past have also soured me and when I hear about players like A-Rod getting 250 Mil contracts it just turns me off more. Baseball is broken and it needs to get it's act together or it is in for a rough ride!!

I'm with you completely on that, AWM. I used to be a Tigers fan before the '94 lockout and I never even thought about going back to it until the league got a commisioner. When they finally did, I knew no one on the Tigers roster and, with the ridiculous lack of a real collective bargaining agreement, I decided not to go back to it. Besides, it's a pansy sport, IMO.

Motorsports is America's pasttime. We invented the automobile. Our cities are designed around the automobile. The best thing about auto racing is women can compete on the same level as men...not that they do but they will someday.

Yeah in the Drag ranks the females have done well...they have yet to break into the win circle in the major oval or road circuits though. It won't be long.

Typo, I am amazed at the number of people that motor sports, especially the growing popularity of NASCAR-but I don't think it overshadows the NFL yet.

I don't think that driving is a sport.

Football is the most popular sport in America, but baseball will always be America's past time.
