Ravens lock up OG Mulitalo to a seven-year contract extension.

Cap-friendly again after a 2002 spring in which they were forced to purge the roster, the Baltimore Ravens plan to dabble in the free-agent market this time around, and the shopping spree began at home on Tuesday.

The Ravens have reached agreement with pending unrestricted free agent guard Edwin Mulitalo on a seven-year contract extension. An official announcement is expected at a 2 p.m. ET press conference. General manager Ozzie Newsome indicated over the weekend at the NFL scouting combine that the team was in final stages of negotiations with Mulitalo.

ESPN.com has learned the contract, which keeps Mulitalo off the open market, is worth about $15.5 million and includes a $4 million signing bonus.
