Ever since I was a 10 year old growing up in Oshawa, this guy's been behind the bench of the Ottawa 67's. Living in different Ontario cities (Oshawa, Toronto, London and North Bay) I can always remember the quotes in the papers, on TV, etc before OHL games there that there's no better honour than to beat Brian Kilrea's team, and it was no easy task...

Kilrea is getting plenty of attention in hockey circles these days. The living hockey legend has a large milestone in his sights needing just three victories to become the first coach in major-junior hockey history to reach 1,000. (Bert Templeton, now behind the bench of the Sudbury Wolves, has coached six OHL teams. He is next behind Kilrea with 905 victories).

I wish him all the best...There's also talk of him being inducted to the hockey hall of fame
