DATE: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2ND!!
TIME: Arrive a few hours early to tailgate!!
GAME-TIME: 8:00PM

Last year it was the trips to Carolina. This year people are saying the trip to DC will have the biggest turnout of Sabres fans. So round up the TRUE FANS and plan on driving (or flying) down there to support the best team in the NHL on December 2nd!!!

I may actually show up since I live in the DC suburbs.

BTW there's hardly any parking around the MCI Center, and most of the parking is in garages that don't lend themselves to tailgating. Your best bet is to take Metro from your hotel (or park and ride if your hotel isn't on Metro) and "tailgate" at one of the bars up the street in Chinatown.

A few years ago, Chinatown was a dump but they've cleaned it up nicely and there are a lot of new bars/restaurants in the area.

One drawback- expect to pay $5-$7 a drink in that area.

I saw Ovechkin last year... it was boring, just like that whole team. He really is the only thing they have going for them. I'm just looking for some support to rile up the Canes fans here, it was hard to do with just me and my wife last week, though we still managed.

Luxury bus with Bathrooms, TVS/DVD players and other good stuff lol.

Its $50 per person total. Not bad at all.

We have 45 people SITTING with us.

And its a 55 person bus, so we have 10 spots.

We have 55 people making the trip with us to DC

We are chartering a bus.

Darth, Ms Darth, Valerie, Dora and I will be joining you in section 115 row K. So that means at least 60 Sabres fans in one section.

PM me if you guys need to figure out where to eat/drink before the game- I know some places in that area (Chinatown, more or less).

Unfortunately we can't host a backyard party for 60 people- we have a townhouse and the backyard would be like a cattle car with that many bodies.

update for those of you going to the game-

I was at the Caps/Stars game tonight (Caps won 4-3). The Verizon Center is really nice, but beers are $7 a piece, so bring your own or hit the bars in the area ahead of time if you're the drinking type. Of course, most of the bars charge $5 a drink, but at least you get a bigger cup.

Also, the place was basically empty- I'd be surprised if there were 10,000 people in there and the place holds about 24,000 for hockey. So, there should be enough Sabres fans there to be heard.

Just go to mall and buy a Sabres hat for $15. Wear that with regular clothes and you will fit right in. That's a small price to pay for a cowboy/maple leaf fan that posts on a Bills/Sabres website.

Or you can wear the leaf jersey of a former sabre (that owns the sabres single season goal scoring record - bet you didn't know that). Chicks will give you dirty looks, you'll get laughed at, and probably worse.

So be a good sport and wear some Sabres gear.
