I completey forgot this guy was available. Chris Brown brought him up in his blog. This guy had a lot of upside and could fill in well in the rotation. If he can revert back to his 2005 form, he will be productive for the D-line.

I watched him at LSU, hes a solid DT. Probably not much of an upgrade per say but he fits our system.

Well, we do need someone to fill the system seeing McCargo is now out. Not familiar with the player, but if he fits the system bring him in for a workout.

save the upgrades for the off-season. Right now we just need a body that won't be a complete liability.

And I've never seen this guy play, but I'd still bet my left nut that he's better than Tim Anderson.

I am actually relativley shocked hes available. Hes not an all-pro or anything but I thought he was sort of a young up and commer. He seemed to get penetration pretty easily last year of course he played on a great DL.

Had a good time in ATL in 05, I would be all for bringing him in, he's a huge updgrade over Tim Anderson, imo

Yeah he seemed to be steadily improving, I hope Marv gives him a look.

I'd be all for it if he considered it.

He pressures the QB well for a NT, but his biggest problem is he sucks against the run. He gets moved out easily, which is why Atlanta got rid of him. He got beat out by Tommy Jackson, an undrafted FA out of Auburn.

IMO, the guy just hurts your run defense more.

that's not technically possible.

Well NE39 just mentioned the guy the Bills could look at, NT Tommy Jackson. This guy did NOT make the 53 man roster down in Atlanta and is on the practice squad. Another youngster, but he is a NT candidate that would seemingly help the run defense, and could contribute now and well into the future. I'd take the risk and sign him off that roster!!!

I do agree that your best bet may be to sign a young PS guy with some promise and develop him for the future, as opposed to some retread who has proven he sucks. Jackson has a strong camp for Atlanta and the reportedly like him.

Lavalais is just a 2nd year guy who was highly regarded coming out of LSU. He is certainly worth a careful look.

Jackson is on the PS so I don't know if he was the guy to bump Lavalais (who isn't eligible for the PS anymore) off the team. Maybe Grady Jackson.

Didn't Tatonka have a huge hard-on for Lavalais the year he entered the draft?
