This should help our ailing defense out a bit:

LIONS BANGED UP:

While the Bills have some injuries of their own to deal with, the Lions are really banged up. There's a good chance they'll have only two healthy starting offensive linemen this week in Jeff Backus and Dominic Raiola.

Starting right tackle Rex Tucker is out with a knee injury. His backup Barry Stokes had to leave last week's game with an ankle injury. Starting left guard Ross Verba has played in just one game because of a hamstring injury.

The Lions had to play rookie Jonathan Scott at right tackle last week. And starting right guard Damien Woody has a mid-foot sprain and was on crutches early this week. The Lions are hoping Woody's backup Frank Davis is recovered from his neck stinger suffered two weeks ago so he can fill in for him.

Throw in starting RB Kevin Jones (concussion),WR Roy Williams (back stinger) - reports out of Detroit say he'll be listed as doubtful this week, starting DT Shaun Cody (dislocated toe - on crutches) and starting LB Paris Lenon (neck) and Detroit is in rough shape. That's seven starters, not to mention they're winless.

Buffalo has to get healthy this week (in the win column) against this team. No ifs, ands or buts. Gotta win this week.

I hope Jauron and especially Fairchild doesn't think this game is in the bank.

We should just blitz them all day long.

Sit on the run all day and force them to convert 3rd and long. If the Bills can dictate by getting the lead early, and Kitna has to throw, then the 3-3 Bills will be lined up for the grudge match against the Hated Patriots!!

Their O-Line was banged up the last preseason game of the season and the Bills starting D-Line was all over their QB the short time they were in.

You don't really need to. All that will do is give the Lions a chance for a lucky big one. If you can keep it close ( shouldn't be much of a problem), you'll get pressure on Kitna eventually, and he'll choke. What you don't want is for them to break a couple of big plays, get some easy scores, and need Loseman to put up 25-30 points. I would worry more about taking Roy Williams out of the game. The Lions' offensive line will pretty much do the rest for you.

Don't forget that when we played the Jets, they were missing two starters and we still couldn't get to Pennington and we lost. Expect the same type of 3-step drops from Kitna. If we don't bump the receivers off the line, we will probably be looking at a game that is more difficult than it needs to be.
