271 That's a nice round arbitrary number you picked.

What's that in meters?

Yardage is irrelevant.

I just hope we win. I seem to remember a game not to long ago he got over 300 yards and Willis got over 150 and we still lost. I'd take wins over yards. It would be nice to win a couple in a row, and end the win, loss rollercoaster.

Well even if we win Sunday, we would be .500 going into our home game with the Patsies. They are playing pretty good right about now. But I would be satisfied with 3-4 going into our bye. We have some very winnable games later on in the season. of course beating NE would be awesome. 4-3 at the break? Nice!

I think he'll throw for 813 Feet.

I don't give a damn if he throws for 150 if we win. Last time I checked WINNING is the thing, not stats.

Jp will throw 200+ yards, and 2 td's

against the Dolphins he had something pathetic like 89 yards, but we won so who gives a ****? The goal is to win games, not set passing records or get JP into the Pro Bowl.

Winning may be the only thing that matters, but how to go about getting that win is the question – and this thread actually brings up a good point.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Here are the Lions 2006 team defensive passing rankings:

<o:p></o:p>
Opposing QB completion % = 72.4 (worst in NFL)
Opposing QB yards/game = 265.8 = (3rd worst in NFL)
Passing TD’s given up = 11 (worst in NFL)
Interceptions = 1 (tied for worst in NFL)
Sacks = 6 (tied for 3rd worst in NFL)

<o:p></o:p>
The Lions rush defense gives up a respectable 96.2 yards/game. So, I don’t care if he throws for 271 or not, and I'd love to run Willis all day for the win. But the Bills game plan going into this one will probably have something to do with going after that porous secondary, and that’s about the yardage that would indicate them doing a good job of it.

and they understand they suck and will prepare for JP throwing.

Good post but one thing that makes me nervous: think back to the NE game. Their secondary was banged up to all hell and we STILL didn't take a shot down the field at all. And the NE game isn't the only time the Bills have done this. I just hope the coaches wake up and try to exploit this weakness in the Lions, and I hope the OL can give JP enough time to heave a few dow the field.

I'd like to see the offense show the ability to score more than 20 points in a game.

The more points you put on the board, the better chance you have of winning. :D

I'm so confident (or just crazy), I'm starting JP on my FF team this week...

because Peyton has a bye. :D

and they understand they suck and will prepare for JP throwing.I would guess that they would rather risk having JP beat them than Willis.

I would rather see Willis run for 125-150 yards than JP throw for a ton of yards because it means that the Bills are controlling the clock and sustaining drives.

I think JP has a better chance throwing for 250 yards than McGahee has of running for 150. Run defense is one of the few things the Lions have been doing fairly well.

But the good news for the Bills is that the Lions will probably not be sustaining a bunch of long drives, and they'll get plenty of chances on offense.

Winning the game is first and foremost. I expect JP to rebound and play well. If he only passes the ball 15 times and we win the game who cares. However, if he throws the ball for over 200 yards and has 3 picks I'm going to be pretty disappointed.
