<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/19">Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat (http://www.kffl.com/link/32), reports the San Francisco 49ers (http://www.kffl.com/team/32/nfl) are hoping to sign free agent S Troy Vincent (http://www.kffl.com/player/1448/nfl) (Bills). It is believed the team views Vincent as a free safety capable of helping the team's nickel defense.

I think the 49'ers are just one number ahead of Houston for places at the BOTTOM of TV's list.

That's a safe bet. They used to be the "it" game every week & they are turds now, thank the family for that.

I'd go to Houston before SF. Hell I'd go to Detroit before SF!

He'll follow the money if only ****ty teams show interest in him. If a contender comes to the table, he may take less for a shot at another ring, especially considering he gets B-lo's salary.

At his age and diminished skill level, he won't be of much help on the field to any team, except to mentor their young DBs - a role I wish he would continue with the Bills. But I guess the desire to play is always pretty strong with competitive guys like TV.

SF is a safe bet for some like Vincent.

What you really need is a new owner.

I can see him signing with a playoff caliber team for one last run at a Super Bowl (i.e. New England)

I thought the Pats might show interest in him given they have injuries in the secondary (they had Troy Brown and Hank Poteat playing DB against Cincy), but then I found out his agent was Tom Condon. The Pats and Condon have some bad history, and that would probably stand in the way of his signing with them.

The 49ers are prepared to offer him a 2-year contract, but other teams are interested:

As a young player I'd love to go to SF especially if I were a defensive player but at Vincents age I would prefer to go to a team like Cin, NE, or IND all looking for secondary help.
