I really hope Vincent doesn't end up in New England

Vincent can end it where he started

(Oct. 12, 2006) -- Troy Vincent hung up the phone Wednesday night before a reporter could ask him where he would next want to play.
It's the big question, with the answer coming soon enough. The Buffalo Bills released Vincent on Oct. 12, making the former five-time Pro-Bowl selection an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any team.
Troy Vincent is a 15-year veteran that played his first four seasons with the Dolphins.
Vincent insists he is sufficiently recovered from the left hamstring injury that contributed to his release in Buffalo. But before he plays for any other team -- and there is expected to be plenty of interest -- Vincent is going to have to pass a physical first.
Just a hunch, but look for the 35-year-old Vincent to wind up back in the AFC East, a division he knows from the four seasons he spent in Miami and the two-plus years he spent in Buffalo.
    Think about it.
The New England Patriots recently worked out three safeties -- Lance Schulters, Keion Carpenter and Brent Alexander. Vincent would be considered an upgrade over any of them.
The Miami Dolphins have been calling around the league, seeking help at safety, and there aren't any better solutions than the player and person the franchise already knows well.

I've said it before, the fact his agent is Tom Condon makes it less likely. Though the Pats like vets and could use help in the secondary, there is bad history between Condon and the Pats that would be a barrier to overcome.

Vincent would contribute a lot more than on-field play
