I'm not making any comments in this thread...just interested to see what the general consensus is.

I'd give him a C-, actually...just barely above a D+..better than last week....but hardly what I expected to see out of him today

Poor.

He's still not making his reads and still forgetting his check downs. This is basic stuff. He's throwing when he should be taking a sack, and getting sacked when he should be throwing it away.

Again, he still shows a lot of upside, but the coaching staff has pulled the reigns off this kid too soon. Time to put the training wheels back on for a few more weeks.

Lions= 1 of the worst teams against the pass in the NFL.

I gave JP a D. He gets a F for the 1st half and C- for 2nd half.= D

Good: 61.7% passing, 2 TDs, one of which was a spectacular improv.

Bad: The INT, waiting too long on sacks (on some of them he had no chance). On the fumble, most QBs would have lost the ball when hit like that.

A mixed day at worst.

That INT was horrible but he played better than a D. He did have 2TD's. Our OL sucks the big one!! The kid gets a C.

Willis McGahee is a game changer. When you see enough of him you want to change the channel to another game.

I have to give him a D. He actually played average in the second half but his first half performance was so bad that I couldn't score him higher. The INT, not feeling the pressure, that sack right before the half (Lindell bailed him out) and missing open receivers was just too much.

This entire team sucks together. A few bright spots, but our OL, DL, D secondary, and WR's outside of Evans are all proving to be underwhelming.

JP had a poor day, but he wasn't without piss poor play all around him.

Some people can't see anything past the QB.

When you can give a QB consistent blocking to the point that he can trust the line on almost every play and can drop back and throw then you will see even more improvement.

JP did the best he could with the blocking today. If it wasn't for his mobility he wouldn't been sacked 7+ times. Hell the stat in the 1st half had him listed with 12 hurries. That is pathetic.

When you can't drop back and throw without having to run around it takes your focus off of your coverages and routes. He was running for his life most of the game.

When he actually did have some blocking later in the 3rd quarter he completed 10 of 12 passes and lead us to a TD. That drive was all him and perfectly thrown balls.

A terrible OL, no threat of a running game and terrible playcalling will get anybody sacked. With them circumstances today I'm surprised he had 2 TD's and still completed 61% of his passes.

And once again even though the game was never a blowout we still threw the ball 34 times and only ran it 18 times.

There wasn't many drives where we actually mixed up the playcalling and/or had some blocking. When we did we scored. The rest of the time it was nothing but passing. When the defense only has to focus on one area of the offense it's pretty easy to tee off on the QB and pressure him. That is unless you are the Bills defense and somehow let Roy Williams get open all game long with no answers of stopping him.

D His decision making stunk.

The one time he rolled out, he made something happen. (TD to Parrish)

I wonder if they're making him sit in the pocket on purpose, because every time he wants to scramble, he hesitates, then gets creamed.

D His decision making stunk.

The one time he rolled out, he made something happen. (TD to Parrish)

I wonder if they're making him sit in the pocket on purpose, because every time he wants to scramble, he hesitates, then gets creamed.

Last year when nothing was there he would take off running and make some nice plays with his legs.

Jauron even admitted they are trying to keep him in the pocket. Sure that's good and all but there is a fine line between when it's a good choice to stay in the pocket and when there isn't.

They are trying to force JP to stay in the pocket and that is leading to hesitation to take off when you can tell he wants too and in the past probably would've.

JP is a great athlete and you have to let him use his assets. His legs are an asset. When there is nothing there it's ok to take off and run. You shouldn't force anybody to stay in the pocket. And also with his speed even some designed runs for him would be a great idea. All of this is too complicated and creative for this coaching staff to figure out though.

JP has made great strides in his accuracy and game this year. They need to let him put his legs into the game also instead of trying to force him to stay in the pocket even when it broke down and there is nothing there.

I've seen way too many plays so far this year when the protection broke down all around and in the past JP would've took off and ran for some positive yardage. This year they are forcing the issue to teach to stay in the pocket. There are times when there is no other choice.

JP is improving his passing game. Let him go out there and play the game and use the assets that got him into the NFL to begin with. When they can teach and let him use his entire package and also get some blocking around him he will be even better.
