Rodney Harrison was one of at least four moves the team made last night as it cleaned house in preparation for the start of the free-agency period on Friday.

The Chargers also informed cornerback Alex Molden, running back Terrell Fletcher and fullback Fred McCrary that they would be released this week.

Leading wideout Curtis Conway also is expected to be cut before the weekend if the sides can't agree on terms for restructuring the final year of his contract.

Cutting Conway would save the team $3.2 million against the salary cap, but also create a gap on the outside, where the team doesn't have another proven No. 1 wideout.

If Price and JR go, Conway would be an AWESOME addition. He could be had pretty cheap too.

He's busy sucking down his burgers and Ginger Ale
When it's all said and done you'll be in salary cap hell.

Any idea what the future will hold for the Chargers and Butler, EB?

Not having an idea about their bonuses it would be hard to say...but in 2004 they only have 24 players signed and have already spent $53.8 million. In 2005 they have 18 players signed accounting for $49.6 million. Now, of course they can cut over priced vets and such...but there is a real danger...

For comparison in 2004 Buffalo has 42 players signed costing $45.8 million in base salaries...
