Redskins Ink Veteran DB Vincent
Ashburn, VA -- (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins signed veteran defensive back Troy Vincent on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Vincent tallied a career-high 102 tackles and four interceptions in 16 starts for the Buffalo Bills in 2005.
The 15-year veteran suffered a hamstring injury in preseason and the Bills placed him on injured reserve before releasing him last week.
Originally a first-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 1992, Vincent played four seasons with Miami before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent in 1996. He played eight seasons with the Eagles before signing with Buffalo in 2004.
Vincent's 47 career interceptions ranks first among active players.
To make room for Vincent on the roster, the team released safety Curry Burns.
If Vincent is active for this Sunday's contest against Indianapolis, it will be his 200th NFL game.
