To those who own Xbox 360;

Which is the better game, NHL 2k7 or NHL 07? Reviews seem to be split...

No way! 2k7 is better on Xbox, not Xbox 360. NHL 07 for 360 is MUCH better. Graphics are better. Gameplay is innovative and new. NHL 07 for 360 tops 2k7 in the core gameplay. And rosters are near correct, 5 minutes of editing lines and getting rid of pyatt and your set. Im sure online roster updates are available though.

For Ps2 I here 07 is better also. But for Xbox 1 I here 2k7 is better. Mainly because 2k series has been weak for Ps2 and 360, but strong on the xbox.

Play the games for yourself, man. That's what I did this year. I actually bought into the hype of EA's game, but thankfully, I didn't buy. The skill stick is neat, but the complete game isn't there. I think maybe next year, it might be. As for 2K7, it's a good game (And I love the 2K series---Bought them all since NHL2K on Dreamcast), and I like that the game moves smoother for skating, but I am not sure this is the year to buy a next-gen hockey game. It might be best to just rent, and wait for 2008's installments.

The most recent 2k7 update (For Xbox360, at least) has the up-to-date roster, except Thorburn is still a Sabre (It was done before the season began). NHL07, however, has old as Hell rosters.

Well I don't want to buy both for the 360 but it looks like i might have to if I can't get an unbiased assessment. thanks, now my son's birthday is going to suffer.

Rent them from Game Fly or something

2K7 Has all teh Skaing ANimations, the Presentation and overlays are better,

'07 has the Pixel Shaders and all that crap, and runs at like 7 Frames a Sec most of the time, oh that stick control and stuff....

2k7 has a really aggressive defensive AI, as well as Goalies, soem games i barely win, and barely get 25 shots, and some games i can score 7 or 8 and totally dominate, ironically i waxed Philly 10-1 twice :)

I want a game that is realistic. I would like to try my hardest and average 25-30 shots per game on both sides and only allow 2-4 goals. I had 2K6 and it is rediculously easy to score, especially on a breakaway. And that was with the goalie AI as high as it could go. And in order for Miller to stop 90% of his shots, I had to edit his stats to max. it was gay.

By the way, does 2K7 still have the Turko goalie thingy?

I bought NHL 07. When I've played it more, I'll review.

ea's is a great game for 360, well worth the $60.
