Final Argument: It is the Quarterback

    It is the Quarterback
    It is the O-Line
    It is the D-line
    It is the Secondary
    It is the Recievers
    It is the linebackers
    It is the Coaching Staff
It is the lack of talent all around.

This is bad and it is everyone on the team and coaching staff that are struggling. You can't single out one player because the failers of one part of the team hurt another part. Each groups failings have contributed to this mess.

Re: Final Argument: It is the Quaterback

It is the O-Line and the D-Line

Without capable, athletic men in the trenches, nothing else functions.

JP, Great QB? No. Average QB? Yes! Able to improve behind a solid/strong offensive line? I believe so!

As JP gets more time in the pocket without feeling the need to scramble or great fear of taking a sack... things open up. The WR's can run deeper routes to maximize their speed. JP gets time to throw the ball deeper, which loosens up a defense and requires LB's to drop back into coverage for the intermediate routes inherently created as the TE's get more room to work. This, in turn, opens up the running game as now McGahee will have only 5-6 in the box, rather than 7-8.

So goes the O-Line, so goes the Offense!

Now, on to the D-Line. In much the same way that the O-Line affects the whole offense... the D-Line affects the whole defense.

A strong Run Stuffing/Pass Rushing D-Line will inherently free up LB's to swarm to the football on running plays, much like the Ravens do today and in years past. By creating a pass rush on passing downs, the opposing QB will have less time to progress through his reads, less time to find the open WR, and less time to wait for a WR to complete is route. This will make our DB's and Safety's look MUCH better than we see them today!

Not only that, when you can take away the run, you force a lot of short drives... keeping your Defense rested for later in the game, and of course you give your offense many more attempts to score points.

As I have stated... the O-line and D-line are critical to how this team is built (especially on offense).

I agree Pride theO-Line and D-Line are the two biggest needs on this team.

that's understandable. Marv wanted to fix the backfield that got torched by SAGE ROSENFELS and gave Chambers his career day and club record.

another stupid post. Marv wasn't the GM the last five years DUH! You expect him to fix TD's mess in a few months? Simple common sense.

To us as fans, does it matter? It's the countless year in a row that we've had to suffer through a crap OL.

Plus, it's not like this should surprise Marv- it's not like it was a secret going in.

you're b!tching about something that this GM had nothing to do with. He's fixing it piece by piece. Find me a team that was playoff bound in their first year of rebuild. I DARE YOU !!!!!
