    Offensive Analogy

Anyone who thinks that the O-line isn't the heart and soul of an offense is as dumb as Tom Donahoe.

The brain (QB) can't function without a heart (O-line). The heart pumps life to all the appendages (WR/RB). Of course you would like to have a genius of a brain but you CAN get by just being average. Hand/eye (QB/WR) coordination is also important. But if the blood is restricted getting to the hands, then the arm is usless. The brain (QB) can tell an arm or a leg what to do all day but if there is no blood getting there, it's useless.

I don't think I can break it down any further for those individuals who don't get it. I guess they never will.

And I know that some of you are thinking, what if the brain (QB) has down syndrome? Well, I guess he wouldn't make it then, would he?

The bottom line is if you get punched in the head enough times, its going to cause problems.

Why do you think boxer's look to guard the heard first?

It could well be that the brain is of only average intelligence, but its the only one we got.

Even if we get a MENSA calibre brain, its going to slip if we keep on letting it get punched in the head.

The brain is also capable of making decisions that are detrimental to other parts of the body.

Much better analogy than the driver/car racing analogy

Also...if you have an IQ of oh, say, 7 - there isn't anything the heart, lungs, appendages or any other part of the body can do to increase the brain's capabilities.

oh I'm sure the heart would be fine without a brain. Talk about not getting it.

              (Scarecrow)
I could wile away the hours
              Conferrin' with the flowers
              Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain

              I'd unravel any riddle
              For any individ'le
              In trouble or in pain

              (Dorothy)
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
              You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain

              (Scarecrow)
Oh, I would tell you why
              The ocean's near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more

I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
              Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain
