As would I. If JP continues to play the same, I may be loving to see Brady Quinn, Troy Smith or Brian Brohm a Bill more.

Re: 2007 NFL Draft Order (Updated Weekly)

I think we only have three options here.

Firstly we cannot go for Calvin Johnson. He is almost certainly going to be a top 3 pick and I fail to see the point in that if we don't have someone to get him the ball or someone to protect the guy who is trying to do that. Johnson is a fantastic player, but a luxury pick of Tom Donahoe at his worst proportions.

I think we can go three ways with this.

                1) We can draft Quinn, Brohm or Smith with the No1 and get a LT in the Round 2. I am slightly concerned at this option as I think the best LTs are Thomas, Baker (if he comes out), Long (if he comes out) and Doug Free. I think Levi Brown is more of a right tackle and Peters will eventually move inside. I think waiting until Round2 and we will be in the second tier of LTs especially if Baker or Long don't come out as I think Free may go higher than people think.
                2) Thomas could well be a top 5 pick, Baker maybe a top 10. Based on some mocks I've seen, Stanton is slipping into the top half of Round 2 though he showed his potential in the Wildcats comeback. We can stay pat and pick our LT of the present and QB of the future.

                or my preferred option

                3) We drop down in the first round, still get the LT in hopefully Jake Long if he comes out in the mid teens or even to the low 20s and pick up Doug Free at the bottom of Round 1. Free is perfectly able to be our next LT for the next decade. We can then pick Stanton with our pick in Round 2 and will have acquired extra picks this year, maybe even a Round1 next year, and/or possibly a veteran that we fancy.

I think we have a number of gaps and we need to play the draft cleverly with only 6 picks at present. The drop off from the first rated LT to the 4th/5th rated is not that great, and in such a deep year for the position we will still get an exceptional player but it will allow us extra picks for more role players. An extra R2 player this year would give us the option to go OL or LB in case FB or TKO decide not to say, and an extra R2 in 2008 gives us flexibility to pick one of the top DTs in 2008 for example.

The Bills can not afford to go WR. This team needs help in the trenches. I am not ready to give up on JP yet but he needs to stop hurting this team twice as much as he is helping them. JP is by far the worse of the 4 first round picks taken 3 years ago.

Re: 2007 NFL Draft Order (Updated Weekly)

I really can't believe that Miami lost to Green Bay.

I mean, I thought they were way over rated going into the season, but I thought they’d at least be around .500.

I think they’re following the same path as the Bills. At the end of 2004 we beat up on some weak teams and won a bunch of games. Then we get rid of the QB that did the work and expected to not miss a beat and have been terrible ever since.

Miami did the exact same thing. Sometimes, those old vets aren’t very flashy, but they get the job done. With Ferrotte, Miami is probably in contention right now. Just my opinion.
                    Resign our own guys!
