WTF??
St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay McKee, signed for his shot-blocking prowess, will be out four to six weeks because of one that went awry.
McKee had surgery on his right hand to repair a break he suffered Friday when he was hit by a shot from Vancouver Canucks defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick, a former teammate with the Buffalo Sabres last season.
McKee was signed to a four-year, $16 million contract in the offseason after leading the league with 241 blocked shots. But he missed the first six games this season after injuring his right knee in preseason.
The Vancouver game was McKee's first of the season, and he played only three shifts totaling 75 seconds in that game before he was hurt.
