Is it possible for us NOT to be ranked number 1 in the rankings?

1 Sabres1-1/3(.955) The Buffalo Sabres had an up and down week. In Week 4 the club won its first two games, tying the league record for most wins to start a season (10), and then on Saturday the Sabres were handed their first loss of the year, a shootout defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Thrashers.

1 Sabres1-1/3(.906) The Sabres enter Week 7 having won three straight games in overtime, including two last week against the Panthers and Flyers. Buffalo has needed extra hockey to determine a winner in five of its last six games.

2 Ducks2-2/5(.833) While Week 6 proved that the Ducks are human, as the team lost its first game in regulation, it also showed that the team is still one of the best clubs in the league, winning three of four overall to improve to 13-1-4 overall.
