SI's all-rookie team at the halfway point, per the magazine, don't know if there's a link on the website yet. Whitner is the representative for SS. Nice article about the impact this year's rookie crop is having on NFL teams already.

I'm a proponent of drafting big guys early, but this is interesting...

LT-Marcus McNeill-Chargers-2nd round
LG-Daryn Colledge-Packers-2nd
C-Nick Mangold-Jets-1st
RG-Jahri Evans-Saints-4th
Ryan O'Callghan-Patriots-5th

DT-Haloti Ngata-Ravens-1st
DT-Barry Cofield-Giants-4th

...Only two of seven 'big men' were drafted in the first...three on day two. Noticeably absent = D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

Decent evidence that you don't have to use a first-rounder to get a starting (and effective) lineman.

Who was the FS?

FS-Danieal Manning-Bears-2nd

12 of the 29 total were first rounders. Seven were Day 2 picks. One, Jon Ryan-K-Packers, was a FA.

DeMeco Ryans has to be in there, also.

Why isnt JP in there? Hes a rookie. His numbers are WAY better than Vince Youngs. Peter King is biased.

Right... I mean the excuse I hear EVERYDAY is he "hasnt even started 16 games yet".. That makes him a rookie right?

Really? And how has picking lower linemen the last 10 years worked out for the bills?

And Who says Dbrick won't be one of the best in the game. Way to take one persons opinion and spin it the way you want.

Gee, where is the best player in the NFL, Vernon Davis?

I thought he was going to change the TE position forever?

And before he was doing nothing (I know since I have on a few teams).

The point is, early in one's career evaluation is not easy.

He broke his leg in like what, week 2 or 3? and he already had a TD, or more than Royal/Everett COMBINED.

In defense of Royal/Everett, The Oline doesnt give them much time.

How has picking a top 5 OT worked out??

How has a rookie free agent worked out?

There is no science to this but I see all 5 offensive Lineman have good QB's.

Did you run out of Midol today, or is something else bothering you?

I never said D'Brick won't be dominant, or indicated that any of the players mentioned were better/worse than any others. I also stated that I was a proponent of taking big men early, so I didn't exactly 'spin' it 'the way I wanted'.

BTW-those jeans make your ass look fat.

Why dont you even pay attention to him?

He thinks he's a coach.. In reality, he's the assistant coach, which in pee wee football terminology is another descpription for the JUICEBOX GUY!

Next time he posts something idiotic, just tell me him to relax and go get you a JUICEBOX
