Ty Detmer was re-signed by the Detroit Lions on Friday after a season in which he did not play as a backup quarterback.
Two other free agents, tight end Mikhael Ricks and cornerback Jimmy Wyrick, also signed, the team said.
Detmer, entering his 12th NFL season, originally joined the Lions through a trade with Cleveland before the 2001 season.
