Falcons | Interested In Coles - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
21:04 PT: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Falcons have an interest in restricted free agent WR Laveranues Coles (Jets), though his agent has not yet been contacted by Falcons officials. Atlanta would have to send a first-round pick to New York in exchange for Coles, if they sign him to an offer sheet that is not matched by the Jets. The Jets have vowed to match any offer for Coles.

Doesn't sound like they are too sure about Peerless after all...

They wanna see if they can get a WR cheaper than what Donahoe is willing to part with Price..? Evidently, Donahoe has told Atlanta what he wants for Peerless.

Atlanta is exploring all there options. There just being smart. Too many teams are gunning for Boston so I am not too sure that he will end up in Atlanta. Batimore is one team really pushing hard for Boston. The Jets won't let Coles go even though I wouldn't mind seeing the Jets lose Coles at WR with the emergence of Pennington. There are still teams out there wanting Price. Anything we get is gravy because we were thinkikng a month ago we would lose Price and get nothing in return.

this is just posturing by atlanta. they want TD to lower his demands. its a poker game.

Gee, there's a shocker! You mean Price isn't worth all that we seem to think he is possibly?

It is a poker game. A risky one, high stakes. We're fine right now unless this Price thing drags out and Price/McGee sign the offer. As well, we need to move for a DT along w/ an LB.

T is right, This is all to have some leverage with PP. If Atlanta is going to give up a #1 for a WR, it's not going to be for a Coles. Hell they would be smarter to go with Boston than Coles and save the #1

the jets stated that they WILL NOT let coles leave.. they will match any offer.. and any team would be nuts to throw out more money than the jets can afford.. because your throwing that out on a guy who is very young, with one decent season.. price is a better receiver right now.. everyone knows this.. no one is paying huge jack and a 1st to pry coles away from the jets.. and the jets wont let him go anyway.

boston is a huge liability.. knee/foot issues.. drug issues.. suspension issues.. price is the number one guy on the market.. he wants to be in atlanta, and atlanta has stated all along that they want him.. they contacted TD immediately after the start of FA and are having him in for a visit 2 days after the start of FA for dinner with the owner, which has always ment that they get their guy.. blank likes to wine and dine the ones he REALLY wants..

i am confident something will get worked out here soon.
