I'm so over the QB debate.

JP was supposed to improve this year or else. He has:

Re: I'm so over the QB debate.

Since the bye his numbers are even better. His QB rating is over 100 for the last 3 games. He's playing better than Eli and Ben who were drafted above him and play on better teams. Phillip Rivers has been awesome but also has an OL and weapons in place. That leaves Schaub who is still not playing as a starter yet. I'd say I'm pretty happy with JP. Imagine JP on a chargers team!!

If Rivers was here and he was handled by TD, thrown to the wolves, thrown under the bus by the vets, no OL , no LT ,he would be on the same boat as JP.

This debate wont end until things that J P has no control over take shape:

        1) The o-line is improved or improves its play to a level like yesterday in every game
        2) We have a relentless ground game that can score TD's in any given play
        3) A defense that can be counted on to win tough games
        4) Playmakers who make big plays, not just Lee Evans, but a complete, tough offensive unit

Until the line is drastically improved to play consistently at yesterdays level, you can expect JP to have bad games and the debate to rage on.

Its not all his fault nor none of his fault

        Its a team game.

          Agreed.

Prior to the Bills game, the Texans had given up an average of 142.9 yds in their previous 4 games. JP had that in the first quarter because we let him loose and he struck up that great relationship with Evans.

          Those 4 teams were ;

          Jaguars - Leftwich - 125 yds, 0 TDs
          Titans - Young - 87 yds, 1 TDs
          Giants - Manning - 179 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
          Jaguars - Garrard - 214 yds, 0 TD, 4 INT

          BILLS - LOSMAN - 340 yds, 3 TDS, INT

He outperformed both Jags QBs who have been mooted as potential replacement combined

He outperformed two top3 picks QBs combined.

Of the teams who have visited, he has outperformed McNabb, Brunnell, Culpepper, and Bledsoe.

In fact he has only been outperformed by Peyton Manning who through 26/38 for 400yds and 3 TDs

          Give the boy some credit.

Great post!!! Kind of kills the "it was only the Texans" argument!!

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like a dominant O-line in Buffalo! Anything resembling the Kansas City unit of the last ten years would suit me just fine. The premise I'm getting to is that Marv knows that his success was predicated on a strong O-line for Kelly, Thomas, and Reed so he definately has this blueprint in mind for Losman, McGahee, and Evans IMO!!! I wouidn't be at all surprised by a Steinbach signing in Buffalo, as Marv will aim VERY HIGH during free agency ( Ralph will give him the reins financially, as needed).

wtf- JP has half a season's worth of ****ty games, and you defend him and say he needs time. Then he has one good game and you declare the debate over? Doesn't that seem slightly biased to you?

Look, I don't want to take away from what JP did on Sunday- it was an excellent game. But he has to prove he can look like an NFL QB on a consistent basis- not just 2-3 times over a 16 game season.

As does our oline. If the line is consistent than Losman should be expected to perform, if not than all bets are off. Lets see how the line plays next week. My hope is that the line as well as Losman has turned a corner...we will see

uh weren't you saying that JP should finish the season? Isn't that giving him time? So what's your problem now?

Give JP an consistent OLand running game and if he still stinks it up he's gone. You cannot however expect consitency from him when he's running for his life.

I wouldn't trade Rivers to the Bills for Losman and 2 first rounders.
