When JP has performed poorly this year, his supporters would cite mitigating factors such as bad o-line, coaching, inexperience, etc. The critics would dismiss those factors as excuses.
Now when JP has a great game, the critics cry Houston! Houston! Houston!
Sorry, but it goes both ways. You can't dismiss excuses in one case and have your own in another.
I agree that Houston contributed to JP having the game he did. (But he did play very well regardless.) So I'm consistent about believing in mitigating factors, and in reasons things happen the way they do.
