The most messed up thing about our schedule

We had to play the top 4 teams in Fox's power rankings with 2 more games remaining, does this seem fair to you?? Or is it just our typical luck that whoever we play gets great that year?

    NFL Power Rankings Week 11

1 Chargers3(+2)1/8Shocked to see the Chargers at No. 1? Don’t be. By beating Denver on the road Sunday night, the Chargers took the lead in the AFC West and solidified themselves as both the hottest and most dangerous team in the NFL. Coming into the game, pundits gave Marty Schottenheimer as much of a chance to beat the Broncos in Denver as Stan Marsh had in leading the Park County youth hockey team on "South Park" past the Detroit Red Wings. Alas, with consecutive second half comebacks from 17 points or more, the ‘Bolts are simmering entering their Week 12 battle with Oakland . LaDainian Tomlinson’s scored 11 touchdowns over the past three weeks; 19 in his last six. He’s not going to break the NFL single season touchdown record; he’s going to obliterate it.

2 Colts1(-1)1/2Something was off in Sunday’s game with Dallas . Peyton Manning was intercepted twice, Dallas Clark and Aaron Whitehead dropped numerous balls, and Marvin Harrison lost his first fumble since 2004. The bad news for Colts fans—Indy’s bid for an undefeated season comes to an end. The good news for sports fans—we don’t have to deal with any more talk of an undefeated season. Call me crazy—but there’s only so much of that grainy ‘72 Dolphins footage I can take in a 2-year span.

3 Bears4(+1)1/5The Bears defense dominated a team from New York for the second straight week on Sunday. Brian Urlacher intercepted Chad Pennington in the end zone during the first half, and the Bears shut the Jets down from that point on. And though the score might not show it, the Bears offense was pretty impressive in the win, too. Thomas Jones garbled up 121 yards, and Rex Grossman played smart, heady quarterback—completing several fourth quarter completions to keep the ball out of the Jets’ hands. They say defense and special teams win championships. The Bears have the best of both in the entire league.
Team: Home | Stats | Fantasy
4 Ravens5(+1)3/9I guess it’s time we start paying more attention to the Ravens. Return man B.J. Sams returned six kicks for 212 yards and Jamal Lewis (remember him?!) scored three touchdowns in Sunday’s 24-10 manhandling of Atlanta . Lewis—a notorious fantasy league bust for the past two years—looked like his old self on Sunday. After the game, he told reporters, "A couple of times out there, it kind of felt like old times." Good to have you back, Jamal. Good to have you back.

We played 6th NE twice and lost and we still have to play Jax (8) still too.

the schedule is set years in advance. the only thing that gets decided in the offseason is the order in which the games are played.

There is a formula to the schedule...

          6 games against division opponents
4 games against an NFC Division (this year it is NFC North, last year it was NFC South, next year it is NFC East, year after that NFC West, it is a rotation)
4 games against another AFC Division (this year it is AFC South, last year it was AFC West, next year it is AFC North, it is a rotation)
2 games against teams in AFC outside of division and outside of AFC Division that is in that year's rotation that had the same place in the division standings as the Bills had the year before (both San Diego and Baltimore were 3rd in their divisions).

It's the same formula for every NFL team.

Thank you! Everybody gets their easy part, and hard part. This is where the Bills (especially JP Losman) can prove they're a legit team, if anything.

I prefer tough schedules, in that manner if we get into the playoffs, we could be more prepared for it. And no, I'm not talking about this year playoffs.

Are we gonna complain about having to play the best teams when we make playoffs too?

There's no conspiriacy. The league cannot anticipate which teams are going to blossom and which will fizzle. The only thing that bothers me is the annual game with New England the week after New England's bye.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

I prefer playing against harder teams. If you beat a great team, our players suddenly gain a boost in confidence, which is all we need. Just imagine pulling out another tough victory, 2 weeks in a row, this time against a GOOD team.

P.S. We are ranked 18 on that power rankings chart. I think that is a pretty accurate assessment, jmo.

I would rather us play against the best, that is the only way to know how good, or bad we are.

I'd rather play a weaker schedule. What you guys say about playing better teams only applied back in the days without the cap and you could assemble a dominant team. Today, teams with weaker schedules have a much greater chance of making the playoffs and you have to be in it to win it.
