The Leafs came into HSBC Arena determined to test their offense against the Sabres' offense, and as they have 18 times this season, the Sabres came out on top. They stormed ahead after creating a 2-0 hole while trying to kill penalties, rebounded when the Leafs rallied to tie the game and pulled away for a 7-4 victory Wednesday night.
It was the fifth time the Sabres have scored seven or more goals this season, and they reached the total for the second straight game. They hit the mark only four times all last season.
