Mired in another frustrating season, the Chicago Blackhawks fired head coach Trent Yawney on Monday and named assistant Denis Savard his replacement.
"The bottom line is wins and losses and we needed to win more," general manager Dale Tallon said in a news release. "We've had some injuries, but in spite of that we're a better team than our record shows...We want to play a more up-tempo style game."
