    Check out who's getting better

Lindell, Parrish, Losman, Evans, Peters, McGee, Willis,Clements, Preston, Gandy , Kelsay etc, etc.

All TD draft picks/FA who will most likely be part of the future core of this team. (If willis and Rosenass don't get greedy next year, we keep Kelsay and Clements resigns)

I knew he wasn't bad at drafting, if only he didn't let his ego ruin everything by hiring coaches that could say "yes sir" faster than they could say "go Bills" instead of coaches that could put everything together.

Too bad he couldn't hire the right coach. Had he been able to I would still love to have him here as the GM.

Facts are facts and whether you hate the guy or not you can't deny the great job he did on draft day.

If this team turns into a playoff contender within the next 2 years the core of this team is gonna be from TD's draft picks. He was awesome on draft day that's for sure.

I just wish he would've got the right coach and was still here with us in April. I love Marv for what he did in the 90's but he isn't anywhere near the level that Donahoe was at when it comes to draft day.

When Detroit runs Millen out of town, I wouldn't be surprised if TD gets a shot there.

God knows they need someone who knows how to draft.

While I am not disagreeing that TD had some good picks but wasn't this years draft very solid? What do you base this statement on?

You don't think that that is something that truely remains to be seen?

how many of TD's draft picks were gimmes?

Yeah great, he can draft skill players but he still couldn't hire the right coach and address the lines. Those are 2 things you absolutely positively need to build a championship team. You can't do it on skill players alone. Let us not speak his name again.

Marv is easily amused but just not amused at stupid stuff like name calling and labelling which seems to be dominating this bioard. Read his book and you can see he has a very dry witt.

It's only 11 games into their career. Lets see how it finishes out. It has the potential but TD had many good drafts in many years for us. We have had years to examine how his draft classes have turned out.

My post was about Donahoe. The only thing I mentioned about Marv was that he isn't at the same level as Donahoe was at yet. That isn't a diss it's just obvious facts. Did I say he sucked or would never be good? Not at all. He still has a lot to prove just like this draft class does.

So far for this draft class I see Whitner who could be one of the Top safeties and better be for the 8th pick in the draft as a safety. I see Simpson so far as somebody who will be pretty solid.

Besides them the rest remain to be seen. McCargo showed nothing the entire 6 games he played. Youboty hasn't even been good enough to make the field yet. Williams has been decent but not dominant. He has the potential to be steady.

The rest of the players we drafted are still a mystery. It's way to early to call this draft class either great or a bust yet.

Most teams will pull out a good draft pick or two in most seasons. Not many can pull out all the great picks TD did in his tenure though. Especially when this team was gutted to the point that it was basically an expansion team after two years and TD did a great job of building up the talent.

And it's not only the selections themselves. It's being shrewed enough to wheel and deal and see for the future in the draft like Donahoe was good at. Examples are drafting Henry and getting our use for him and still getting a good draft selection a couple years later from him. Or trading down and getting Nate Clements AND drafting Henry with that draft pick. Or taking the chances of McGahee. His only major bust was Mike Williams but it was our biggest need and he was the top rated tackle. That will happen to the best of them every now and then.

I never said that this draft class was bad or that Marv will suck but I would still trust Donahoe running it more then Marv to this point. You have to prove yourself for years before being labeled in that category. If Marv can pull out the talent over the next 4 years that Donahoe did then it will be a moot point. He still has a long ways to go before he gets to that point though.

Not many GM's could've taken over a team like Donahoe did that needed gutted from the ground up and give us a competitive roster within 2 or 3 years like he did. He did a great job.

This draft class could turn out to be solid. I don't think it will be great like some of Donahoe's draft classes but this will be solid and we should net at least 2 solid starters in Whitner and Simpson for years to come. The rest of the players remain to be seen. It's way too early to call this draft class great yet that's all I'm saying.

TD better draft a few decent people after being here all these years. Problem is he also drafted too many crappy players especially on day one of the draft where those players need to be starters.

when did TD ever pull out more than a couple of stars from the same draft?

Everett sucks, and I can't even remember who we drafted after him. Parrish barely came on as of late, but prior to the last two games, we'd only see a flash or two and then he'd disappear.

I know we got Clements and Henry the same year (at least I think we did)... Lee and Losman*, I forgot which draft we grabbed Crowell. Stamer scares the crap out of me in passing situations - but inexperience may be the cause of that. I don't even know if Brandon Spoon is still playing - didn't he end up in Carolina or something?

Not every draft pick turns in to being great players.

Yes, Clements and Henry were both in the same draft. Along with Aaron Schobel. And one other guy you may have heard of by Jonas Jennings that was good when he was here and got a huge contract from San Fran. Too bad injuries have stunted his growth.

Then we had another class of McGahee, Kelsay, Crowell and McGee.

The dud year was the same year we drafted Mike Williams but just about every team had a dud that year. Go back and check for yourself. The talent pool was awful that year.

Sorry but TD sucks the cheese off of hairy moose nuts. There is no debating it. Case in point - he is unemployed.
