RK (PV) TEAM REC. COMMENT
1 (2) Sabres 19-3-2 There's no "giving in" here. The Sabres are 3-1-1 since Ryan Miller's return and the netminder helped the team get through a week's worth of tough opponents (Bolts, Leafs, Habs, Rangers). Order us up a round of wings from Duff's!

You know I think the East is the stronger conference but all but three of the teams in my top 10 are from the west and Buffalo is the only eastern team in the top 5. Maybe the west only looks better on paper because the eastern teams have to beat up on eachother night in and night out. Yeah thats what I'll tell myself. And by the way the game versus Toronto sucked. It was perhaps the most penalty filled game I have ever witnessed. Terrible officiating they ruined the whole game. Brad Meier, Dean Morton, Tim Nowak, and Anthony Sericolo should all be suspended after that mess of a game.

1. BUFFALO SABRES [unchanged] Overall record: 18-3-1 (37 pts) Last 10 games: 7-3-0 Have had a few hiccups of late, but keep finding a way to win and have proven they are deep enough in goal to endure an injury. Fun team to watch. |

Rank (Last week) | Team | Record | Key stat | MVP | Needs to step up |
1 (1) | Buffalo Sabres | 17-3-1 | 9-1 in one-goal games | Daniel Briere | Ales Kotalik |
Plenty of role players are still stepping up even as Maxim Afinogenov returned to the lineup, with Paul Gaustad contributing seven points in seven games. What's more amazing about this year's Sabres is that they were on the verge of 100 goals scored with 94 through 22 games, while it took them 31 games last season to reach such a mark.
