View Full Version : Keys to victory... keep ball out of Losman's hands?

3-3 when Losman throws for less than 170 yards.
2-3 when Losman throws for more than 170 yards.

You'd think the more he passes for, the more you win. Not the case with the Bills.

Wow, what a huge difference between 2-3 and 3-3. The only difference is 1 less game to have the chance to equal the same record.

Yep, you have just officially sealed the deal with being somebody that doesn't offer any good insight to the world of football.

Bling...the stats would have relevance on one condition. JP would have to be a finished product in each game being brought up.
He's still developing..getting better...therefore..your stats have no meaning. The last 2 weeks...he's had the ball in his hands when it counted the most...the TD throw to Peerless that went to a spot only Peerless could get it to win the game against Houston....and yesterday....another precision pass to Parrish to get into FG range to win the game

The same statistic applies to Ben Roethlisberger. Is this a coincidence? I think not. Especially, when you don't have the best supporting cast on offense, and blend that together with a running game that is non-existent at times, the end result is usually a L. It's just hilarious you are bashing Losman after 2 4th quarter comebacks in the past 2 weeks, how often have you seen Harrington or Culpepper do that? Hell, I don't see Roethlisberger or Manning do that either.

Blind, I mean Bling. When are you going to give up? Losman is looking more and more like the future in Buffalo each week. Are you just scared of what may happen if Losman keeps up this progress? That clearly spells Buffalo dominating Miami for the next decade.

Many teams do better when the QB throws less.

Brees threw for 510 two weeks ago and the Saints lost.

Bills record when Losman passes 30 or more times:

2 - 2 (.500, which for you Phin fans, is HIGHER than the Bills overall winning percentage of .454)

OpIv37
11-27-2006, 06:23 PM
Come on Bling. Think this one through.

When teams are behind, they throw more. Hence, more passing yards. My guess is that a very similar stat is true for most teams. The only exception would be teams like the Eagles (with McNabb) and the Colts that are really committed to the pass.

ublinkwescore
11-27-2006, 06:28 PM
as much as it pains me to admit this but Bling has a point.

That's BS, because you do what you can to move the ball when you've got it.

Wraith
11-27-2006, 06:29 PM
Right on OpIv:

Top 5 QBs in Attempts

Brees (7-4)
Kitna (2-9)
Bulger (5-6)
P.Manning (10-1)
B.Johnson (5-6)

3/5ths have losing records and they combine for 29 - 26 ( .527)

Top 5 RBs in Attempts

L.Johnson (7-4)
C.Taylor (5-6)
T.Jones (9-2)
R.Johson (6-5)
L.Tomlinson (9-2)

1/5th has a losing record and they combine for 36 - 19 ( .654)

So it appears that the key throughout the NFL to winning ball games is to run more and pass less. Of course anyone with common sense already knew that.

Why would I take offense to that?

He's saying he'd take me over Losman any day.

So who's gonna pitch in for me to fly out to try out for QB of the bills?

I can run, and I can throw too.

I swear I can heave the ball 52-54 yards.

How does Blink have so much rep, but also be the king of 'groans'?
He just starts a million threads that are so stupid, everyone replys to tell him he's an ass, and they pile up rep points, although 'negative messages' are what he brings. Can't we just ignore the turd?

You're reaching, Bling, and grabbing at air. Phil is right. You're applying stats to Losman as if he is a finished product. The Bills' coaching staff handled him very differently in the first several games of the season versus the last two. In the last two games Losman is undefeated in games where he has thrown for more than 170 yards, and undefeated in games in which he has thrown for less than 170 yards. Of course that stat tells us just about as much about JP as does yours (virtually nothing).

Dr. Lecter

Great individual efforts by both Peerless and Roscoe to come down with the catches, also.

True, but they were alos thrown in the only spots possible.

Great teamwork. If I did not know better, I would say that it takes more than one player, even a QB, to make a team good or bad. One player does not make a team 9-2 instead of 5-6.
