    Weather

So it looks to me that it should be snowing come sunday. Whats the local weather people saying? According to what I read it looks like the worst part of the storm will hit on saturday. Now if it is snowing, I think that will play to the advantage of the Chargers. Simply because the run will play a larger role. So the Chargers #2 running offense against the Bills 26th rushing D is a matchup I can see the Chargers exploiting. Now on the other side I can't see the Bills rushing attack doing to much against the Chargers #7 rush d. Then if you drop back and pass you'll have to deal with Merriman and co who lead the NFL in sacks. It's been awhile since the Chargers have played in winter conditions. Should make for an interesting game.

Who says the the snow doesnt make the Chargers completely one-dimensional? That, although its scary to think of LT getting the ball 40+ times, may be an advantage....maybe...

Its not going to be that bad of weather to really not allow a team to pass. Just colder

do you think it will be cold/snowy enough to make a significant difference in the passing game, either way?

cold and snow doesnt seem to come into play that much in the nfl any more...take a look at the game last night. Hasselback was terrible in the 1st half but it wasnt because of the weather - he was just off. Favre had no trouble.

The last time it came into play was that Miami game a couple years ago where that Blizzard came rolling over the stadium.

The Bills run defense is not exactly what one would call "good." I'm scared of what LT might be able to do.

I hope the Bills D can come up big.

                              Re: Weather

It's difficult to really determine what kind of factor the weather will be. I don't think Buffalo has had a really snowy game since the new field surface was installed. I think Seattle's field is a similar surface, and it seemed to give pretty good footing despite the snow. Slippery conditions generally give the advantage to the offensive player because he knows what he's going to do and the defensive player has to react. Therefore, the defensive player will be the one more likely to lose his footing. The other factor is shoes. Buffalo's equipment manage should know more about what footwear is going to be best for any given inclement conditions. However, if San Diego has a good experienced guy and they have the right equipment, that advantage evaporates. The other factors will be wind and visibility. JP hasn't played much in the snow, so I can't see that being a particular advantage for Buffalo. On the other hand, if it is windy, JP has the stronger arm and the tighter spiral. He might have a bit of an advantage over Rivers, whose arm is pretty good, but whose mechanics aren't quite as good as Losman's

The only other fact would be the simple fact that Buffalo will have had a little more opportunity to practice in cold weather. The discomfort of the San Diego's players may cost them a bit in focus.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
